Privacy Policy

The short version. Your closet, birthday, outfit history, and photos stay on your device by default. Photos leave your device only when you deliberately use an AI Studio cloud action and approve its processing notice. We do not sell your data, use your photos to train Panda Closet models, or use your data for advertising.

1. Who we are

Panda Closet (“we,” “us,” “the app”) is an independent iOS application that pairs your personal wardrobe with daily astrology and weather to suggest outfits. We do not sell user data. We do not run advertising networks. We do not share your information with brokers.

2. What we collect, where it lives, and why

Information stored on your device only

The following information is generated, used, and stored locally on your iPhone. It does not leave your device unless you choose an AI Studio cloud action described below, share an export yourself, or back up the app through your own Apple services.

Your date of birth — used to calculate your sun sign locally on your device.
Photos of your clothing and the metadata you assign (category, color, season, notes). These are stored in your app’s local database and the iOS file system.
Outfit recommendations, wear history, and feedback — including which outfits you logged as worn, skipped, or saved.
App preferences — your settings, units, notification timing, and similar.
Your selected model — including a personal full-body photo, which remains local until you explicitly generate a model try-on.

Information transmitted to third-party services on your behalf

To deliver core features, we send the limited data described below to service providers. AI Studio photo and closet-summary processing occurs only after the relevant feature is used.

Weather city → OpenWeather. The app does not request your device location. When you search for or select a city, the search text and the selected city’s coordinates are sent to OpenWeather to find the city and fetch its weather. Your selected city is stored locally on your device, and Panda Closet does not store these requests on its servers.
Subscription receipts → RevenueCat & Apple. When you purchase or restore a subscription, Apple’s StoreKit and our subscription processor RevenueCat record the transaction so we can grant access across your devices. The receipt does not include personal content from the app.
AI Studio identity, quota, and temporary results → Supabase. AI Studio creates a pseudonymous account identifier without asking for your name or email. Supabase authenticates that identifier, stores quota/task records, and temporarily stores successful cloud image results in a private bucket.
Cloud clothing cutout → fal.ai. When you approve AI Studio cloud cutout, the selected clothing photo is sent through our server to fal.ai, which runs the background-removal model and returns the cutout. We request the platform's zero-storage processing mode on every request, so fal.ai does not retain the image on its side beyond handling that call. The returned cutout is downloaded to your device.
Model try-on → FASHN. When you approve model try-on, the selected brand or personal model image and supported clothing photos are sent through our server to FASHN. FASHN processes Base64 inputs without retaining them and holds Base64 output in memory for up to 60 minutes under its current API policy. We do not use face recognition or create a biometric template.
Panda styling chat → OpenRouter and its model provider. AI Studio chat sends the text you enter and a compact summary of owned clothing categories and colors. It does not send photos. Requests require zero-data-retention routing; Panda Closet does not persist chat content on its server.
Anonymous crash & diagnostic data → Sentry. If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, an anonymous report (stack trace, device model, iOS version) is sent to Sentry so we can fix the bug. No wardrobe content or personal identifiers are included.
Anonymous product analytics → PostHog. We track aggregate, anonymous usage events (e.g. “onboarding completed,” “first outfit logged”) via PostHog to understand which features help users. This data is not linked to your identity and is never used for advertising.

3. What we do NOT collect

We do not upload photos in the Free or Plus closet flows. AI Studio uploads only the photos selected for an approved cloud action.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or address.
We do not use face recognition, identify people in photos, or create biometric templates.
We do not use advertising or third-party trackers.
We do not track you across other apps or websites (no IDFA tracking).
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with brokers.

4. App Tracking Transparency

Panda Closet does not engage in “tracking” as defined by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework, and therefore does not display the ATT permission prompt. We do not link your activity in this app with data collected by other companies.

5. Children

Panda Closet is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a minor has used the app, please contact us and we’ll address it immediately.

6. Astrology disclaimer

The astrological content in Panda Closet is provided for entertainment purposes only. We do not claim that astrology predicts real events or outcomes. Outfit suggestions are recommendations and not professional advice of any kind.

7. Your rights and controls

Delete everything. “Clear all data” in Settings first requests deletion of your AI Studio anonymous account, task/quota records, and temporary cloud results, then clears local data. If cloud deletion cannot be confirmed, local credentials remain so you can retry. Uninstalling clears local data but cannot send that cloud-deletion request; contact us if you uninstalled first.
Control cloud processing. You can turn off AI Studio cloud photo processing in Settings. The app will ask again before another photo action leaves the device.
Disable analytics. You may opt out of anonymous product analytics in the app’s settings.
Manage your subscription. All subscriptions are handled through your Apple Account. Cancel or change anytime via Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
Region-specific rights. If you reside in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have additional rights to access, correct, or erase the limited data we do process. To exercise them, email hello@astrocloset.app.

8. Data retention

Local data is retained until you delete it or uninstall the app. AI Studio result files in our private Supabase storage expire after 24 hours; the app’s downloaded copy remains local until you delete it. Completed task metadata and expired quota ledgers are automatically removed after 90 days, or sooner when you use “Clear all data.” Panda styling chat content is not stored by our server and is sent with zero-data-retention routing. Subscription, crash, and optional analytics records are retained by Apple, RevenueCat, Sentry, and PostHog according to their policies and legal obligations.

9. International transfers

The third-party processors listed above may store data in the United States or other jurisdictions. By using Panda Closet you consent to this transfer where applicable. We choose processors that maintain industry-standard data protection practices.

10. Changes to this policy

If we materially change how data is handled, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. For significant changes that affect existing users, we will also display a notice in the app on next launch.
